Pajinka (Tip of Cape York)

The Northern Peninsula Area is home to several Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, each with distinct culture, language, and traditions.

Jardine River

The only crossing point into the Northern Peninsula Area, where the ferry provides passage over a river of ecological importance and cultural significance.

Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park

Located along Lankelly Creek, Coen is a key gateway to Cape York, offering a practical base for travellers and insight into the region’s landscapes and local way of life.

Cooktown to Coen

North of Cairns to Cooktown

Where rainforest meets sea country This part of the track features guided walks, coastal tours and vibrant art experiences. Travellers can explore Mossman Gorge, Cooya Beach, the Daintree, Rossville and Black Mountain through cultural storytelling, nature and creative expression.
